A woman was shot dead after she harassed two burglars as they tried to rob her husband, a bloody scene from Monday night still untouched.
Ying Zhu Liu, 57, heard a commotion outside her eighth-floor apartment on Manhattan’s Lower East Side around 11 p.m.
She opened the door, along with her 32-year-old son, and was confronted by two men who tried to steal her husband’s cell phone.
Shots were fired and Liu was shot in the face. She died on the spot.

Police are hunting for two suspects who fled on foot. One of them was wearing a black ski mask and a hooded jacket that was black and red.

The duo grabbed Liu’s husband’s phone before running away.
Neither her husband nor her son were injured in the incident.
The building itself has 16 residential units, plus a commercial space and a nursery school on the ground floor.
