Woman, 53, in critical condition after alleged collision when Holden Commodore ran a red light

A woman has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after an alleged collision in which the driver fled on foot.
Shortly after 11pm on Friday night, emergency services were called to a two-car collision at Point Cook, about 17 miles southwest of Melbourne.
Police were told a purple Holden Commodore had headed west on Dunnings Road, before running a red light and colliding with a gray Volkswagen Golf.

The driver and his passenger managed to escape unharmed, but a 53-year-old was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The 25-year-old driver of the Holden is said to have fled on foot, but was soon arrested by police at his home address in Point Cook.
Police have urged anyone driving along Dunnings Road who saw the purple Holden prior to the incident to report to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The driver assists with inquiries, but the investigation continues.
