Woman, 33, dies and two more are fighting for their lives after being crushed during a stampede at a concert when panicked crowd mistakenly thought they heard gunshots and ran for the exits when a witness says “it was full of death”.

A 33-year-old woman has died and two people are fighting for their lives after they were crushed during a stampede at a concert in Rochester.

The female victim and eight other people were crushed in the stampede during a GloRilla and Finesse2Tymes show at the Main Street Armory theater in Rochester on Sunday night.

They were injured when the crowd mistakenly thought they heard the sound of gunshots amid blaring music and ran for the exits.

Rochester police said no shots were fired at the scene, but some in the panicked crowd were injured during the stampede.

‘All I know, it was a lot of running. Many people were injured. I see people on the ground, like seriously injured,” a witness said. News10NBC.

‘I was deathly full. So he knew he had to get out of there,” he added.

Police officers arrived at the scene following a report of gunshots inside the music venue and found several injured victims on the ground.

Emergency crews took a 33-year-old woman and two other victims to Strong Memorial Hospital in an ambulance. The woman died as a result of her injuries, while the two concertgoers are in critical and life-threatening condition.

Six more victims were rushed to hospital in private vehicles; his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
