A woman has discovered that a $6 top she found at a thrift store is going for “$800-plus online.”
Brailee Banbury found the gold, sparkly garment while walking through a Goodwill store and captured it in a video.
The 23-year-old has an eye for vintage and often sells items on Depop after recognizing its potential.
The Texas native shared a video of her find on TikTok and the clip has been viewed more than 5.2 million times, with many noting that the top resembles the one Jenny wore in the movie Forrest Gump.

In a video shared on TikTok, Brailee looks at the top before revealing a photo of the label.
While searching for it online, she shares a screenshot of the top that retails for $799.99.
The video is captioned: “POV: You just found a shirt from the 70s online that goes for $800 plus.”
“It was the first thing I noticed when I walked into the store, it was in the middle of the store,” Brailee said.
‘I have a very good eye for vintage pieces and I immediately noticed it, even from a distance.
“After I looked, I could tell from the label and the weight of the metal that it was valuable, so I decided to Google the brand.”
When she Googled the brand, she found that the Whiting And Davis top was worth $700 to $1,000, and sold secondhand for about $350 to $700.

“An interesting fact about this top is that it was actually featured in the movie Forrest Gump…Jenny is actually wearing it (pictured),” she added.
“For now I have decided to keep it, maybe in the late future I plan to possibly sell it or keep it as an heirloom,” she explained.
‘And for anyone looking for vintage: look in all the aisles of the store, there is usually something hidden.
‘Sometimes these situations are based on luck, so check the store regularly!’
When she examined the top further, she was able to identify that it was the same type of top as the one worn in a famous movie.

Highly regarded as a classic film, Forrest Gump is a 1995 film starring Tom Hanks as the title character and Robin Wright as love interest Jenny.
In the scene, she is seen wearing the expensive top while taking drugs with a partner.
She goes to the balcony and stands on the edge of her platforms as she looks anxiously at the street below.
Jenny slowly comes down from the edge and is seen crying as she rocks back and forth in the gold top.
