Her father, Robert, said he woke up Wednesday knowing Zahriya would be taken off life support.

But he didn’t expect more than 100 people to turn out at Banner-University Medical Center for her honor walk after she donated her organs.

“I never expected such an overwhelming outpouring of support in a million years,” he said.

“I thought it would just be family and friends.”

He added that it’s “amazing to know that parts of my baby will live on, but there are no words, nothing that can ever make this better.”

He noted that they had previously lost Zahriya’s twin brother Izac, who died in a motorcycle accident in 2021. According to Robert, that had taken its toll.

“Mom often heard her cry when she was alone in her room because she didn’t want others to see her weakness. We trusted in her strength and I hope that now we can somehow fill it,” he said.

‘Because we lost our twins, the future is going to be very dark and we’re going to get through it no matter how hard it is. Because that’s what our daughter would have wanted for us.’

Zahriya’s grandparents also say they find comfort in the fact that she has been reunited with her twin brother.

Olivas has been arrested on charges of domestic violence, aggravated assault and battery.

Zahriya’s family described her as a “very strong girl” who “had just graduated from beautician school”

They described Zahriya as a ‘very strong girl’ who ‘recently graduated from beautician training’ to KVOA.

She was active in JROTC and wanted to do that full-time.

Olivas has since been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, aggravated assault and endangering people.

Later that day, he was released after posting $2,500 bail, much to Robert’s anger.

“It almost seemed like a joke,” he said.

“I am disappointed in the judge, in the legal system.”
