Wolves have made an attempt to reach Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

Ramsdale, 26, has made 89 appearances for the Gunners since joining from Sheffield United in 2021 for an initial transfer fee of £24million.

The Englishman impressed during his first two seasons at the Emirates, but following the arrival of David Raya from Brentford at the start of the 2023-24 season, Ramsdale lost his place in the team, leading to much speculation over his future.

The Gunners rejected a loan offer from Ajax for Ramsdale earlier this month, but are still eyeing Espanyol’s Joan Garcia as a potential replacement.

Newcastle had previously made enquiries about Ramsdale earlier this year, but Arsenal’s asking price was deemed too high at the time, but they are now considering lower bids to give the 26-year-old the chance to kick-start his career.

Wolves have offered a loan with an option to buy as they only have £20m available in this period.

Despite being out of action for Arsenal in recent times, Ramsdale has remained a regular in Gareth Southgate’s England squad and was No. 2 behind Jordan Pickford at Euro 2024.

The 26-year-old, who came through the youth ranks at Sheffield United before moving to Bournemouth, was also loaned to Worksop Town, Chesterfield and AFC Wimbledon in the formative years of his career.
