Wolves striker Fabio Silva shares his dream of playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo

‘I would like to share a moment with him’: Wolves striker Fabio Silva shares his dream of playing alongside Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo as his future is unclear with the youngster on loan at Dutch side PSV

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fabio Silva has lobbied to play with his ‘idol’ Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese striker joined Wolves in 2020, but is currently on loan at Dutch side PSV, scoring five times in 17 appearances for the club.

With his future in the Premier League unclear, the 20-year-old revealed in an interview with Marca that his dream is to share the same pitch as his hero and compatriot Ronaldo.

My idol has always been Cristiano Ronaldo. Silva said.

“I’d like to play or share a moment with him so he can give me some advice.”

Ronaldo currently plays with Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, although reports emerged this month that the Portuguese legend is looking to leave the Middle East and return to Spain.

Silva continued to clarify his desire to play with the 38-year-old by comparing his playing style to Ronaldo’s former Real Madrid team-mate Karim Benzema.

Believe he and the French striker have a lot in common in the way they play their game.

He added, “I watch Karim a lot [Benzema]because we have features in common.

“He is not the typical number 9 who stays in the region to score goals. He likes to have the ball, connect and assist. so, irreverently, otherwise.

“I like to move, ask for the ball in space, I fight a lot, both defensively and offensively.”

Silva moved to Wolves in a club record £35 million contract from Porto but struggled to impress the mid-world club.

In 63 games for the club, the striker scored just four times and has since been loaned out to Anderlecht and most recently PSV.

He has enjoyed some success in the Netherlands, where he helped the club beat Ajax in the Dutch Cup final last month, where he converted the final penalty in the club’s penalty shootout victory.
