Manchester City reached a verbal agreement with them on Wednesday for Matheus Nunes worth £47.2 million.
And because of that, the club needs reinforcements in the center of the park.
Diarra, 19, is being targeted as a replacement for Nunes after impressing scouts with his performances in France.

Last season, he made 29 appearances in Ligue 1, scoring three goals and three assists and playing for France at youth level.
The 25-year-old Bellegarde played thirty games in the French top class last season, good for two goals and nine assists. He also represents France at youth level.
Wolves have also made progress in talks to sign Uruguay defender Santi Bueno from Girona.
