Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the signing of Tommy Doyle from Manchester City for the whole season, with an option of a £4.3 million permanent move

The midfielder was loaned to Sheffield United last season, where he helped the club to promotion to the Premier League. He was also part of the England Under-21 squad that won the Under-21 European Championship earlier this summer.

After parading the new signing at Molineux Wolves, sporting director Matt Hobbs said: “I’ve talked before about players coming here hungry to get back to work, and Tommy is one of them.

“He’ll give us something else. He has a good age profile, a good character profile, but above all a good footballer. He meets many requirements for us.’
