Husband Reveals How He Accidentally Won Two $1 Million Lottery Prizes In One Day — All Because He Had Problems With His Wife

  • Each ticket won $1 million in the Monday Lottery

A husband has miraculously won the grand prize of the lottery twice a week while in the dog house with his wife because he forgot to buy tickets the week before.

The couple from Dapto, just south of Wollongong, received $2 million for winning the two Division 1 prizes on the Monday Lotto after the man bought two identical tickets for his wife, earning them $1 million each.

The man explained that he had upset his wife the previous week after forgetting to buy the ticket from the previous draw.

To make up for it, he bought two tickets with the same numbers his wife had been using for decades.

“My wife has been playing these songs for almost three decades and has always said that one day they would be drawn,” he told Lotto.

The woman excitedly checked the results Tuesday morning without knowing that her husband had bought an identical ticket.

“Look, this morning she kept crossing out number after number on her ticket, and once we realized we won $1 million on one ticket, I thought I should probably tell her about the second identical ticket as well,” he said .

The woman confessed to screaming when she found out they’d won $1 million, but nearly fell unconscious after her husband revealed they’d doubled their money with the double ticket.

“I can’t believe this happened to us,” the husband said.

The newly minted millionaires admitted that they don’t need the huge profits to be happy, instead choosing to support their families and take a vacation.

“It doesn’t take much to make us happy,” the woman said.

‘I can buy a house for my daughter, I can prepare the children and grandchildren for the future.

“Once we’ve done that, we can enjoy what’s left.”

“I’d really like to travel around Australia and see all the parts of our country I haven’t seen yet.”

The man explained that he forgot to buy tickets for last week’s draw and surprised his wife with the extra ticket on Tuesday morning after they became millionaires.

It comes just days after a father from Swan Valley, in northwest Perth, stepped forward to collect his $40 million winnings on the Powerball lottery, a week after his ticket was won.

The winner said he bought the ticket on an impulsive decision and was floored by his windfall.

“I was in disbelief and shock when the retailer explained that I had the winning ticket,” he said.

The father decided to celebrate with his family by enjoying fish and chips for dinner.

“We are a close-knit family and will share the victory together and make sure our children and grandchildren are taken care of,” he said.

The family plans to travel business class to their next holiday destination.
