Woke Mayor Muriel Bowser of Washington DC will be traveling with her team on a taxpayer-funded jaunt to Las Vegas in a few hours.
It comes just weeks after the Democrat faced backlash for attending the lavish $5,000-per-person Masters golf tournament, Bowser personally revealed.
According to her public agenda, the mayor will travel with a team of fourteen people on an “economic mission” to the International Council of Shopping Centers at the Wynn Las Vegas on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
“Mayor Bowser will attend the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) to attract retail to the District of Columbia,” the description said.
“This economic mission is coordinated by the Washington, DC Economic Partnership, which has organized the District’s presence at ICSC since 2001,” her office added in notes about the event.

In a separate press release, the mayor’s office said, “we know Washingtonians want access to great amenities in every part of DC.
‘From the Lidl in Ward 7 to the Wegmans in Ward 3, these are conversations that have started at ICSC.
The Mayor’s team added: ‘Through programs like the Food Access Fund and the Neighborhood Prosperity Fund, we have made good progress in closing the provision gaps, but more needs to be done to ensure greater accessibility and equality – and to fill those gaps and support the community. The continued transformation of Downtown will be central to this journey.”
The traveling delegation’s goals for the trip are to “expand the Washington, DC brand,” “generate business leads for major development projects,” “promote business relationships” and “connect with new prospects, including retailers and real estate agents.”
Mayor Bowser faced intense criticism for using taxpayer money last week to fund a trip to one of the most exclusive sporting events in the world, the US Masters in Augusta, Georgia.
According to the mayor’s official schedule, she was scheduled to travel to the Peach State on Saturday, April 13, “as part of a sporting and economic development visit.”
The communications director for Bowser’s office, Susan Castillo, said DC NewsNow this week the mayor was invited by two people who are ‘leading the charge’ on a plan to rejuvenate two parts of the city.
Bowser was invited by Gallery Place/Chinatown Neighborhood chairmen Jodie McLean and Deborah Ratner Salzberg’s Task Force to Shape Future, Castillo told the website.

Castillo went on to say that Bowser was willing to travel to any city or country in the world to advance the interests of her government.
WUSA reports that Bowser’s ride included senior advisor Beverly Perry and two other aides.
The station reports that the purpose of the trip was also to take advantage of sporting opportunities for the city, which already plays host to five professional sports teams.
Earlier this month, Bowser drew criticism after he boasted that crime in D.C. has declined compared to last year, even as a recent string of violence has driven residents to flee to the suburbs of Virginia and Maryland.
Despite an overall decline of 13 percent this year from January 1 through April 2 compared to the same period last year, the District of Columbia is still experiencing an increase in crime compared to the norm in the years leading up to 2023.
It comes after 2023 was recorded as the deadliest year in more than two decades. DC also had the largest spike in violent crime of any other major U.S. city.
Mayor Muriel Bowser faced backlash earlier this month for touting the drop in crime between the second quarter of 2023 and 2024, but residents say they feel safer and many are fleeing to the suburbs of Virginia and Maryland to escape the violence and escape the threats.
Overall violent crime is down, but the MPD notes that the 2024 statistics are “preliminary” and may change throughout the year as more information becomes available
Although some statistics are lower than in 2023, there is still an overall upward trend compared to previous years. One of the biggest crime statistics in DC is the result of carjackings, which reached an all-time high in 2023 but are down 31% so far this year
From January 1 through April 2 last year to this year, there was a 13% drop in overall crime – following a record year of crime in 2023 in Washington, D.C.
Tiffany Henyard, 40, of Dolton, Illinois, has been repeatedly called the worst mayor in America
Although data shows a decline between the specific time period last year and this year, residents share the general feeling that crime is increasing and they feel increasingly less safe in DC neighborhoods.
As is clear, in April, a person was robbed at gunpoint just steps from the Hart Senate Office Building by two individuals, at least one of whom was armed with a handgun.
While frustrations may be running high among DC’s mayor, it is Dalton, Illinois, that claims to have “the worst mayor in America.”
Mayor Tiffany Henyard is under federal investigation and recently served federal subpoenas seeking records of city officials’ travel and possible financial mismanagement.
A 2023 trip to Las Vegas was reportedly one of several taxpayer-funded trips Henyard took that raised a total of more than $102,000.
Since her election in 2021, Henyard has faced allegations of corruption, fraud and financial mismanagement, including a lawsuit filed a month ago alleging she worked to cover up a sexual assault during the trip to Las Vegas.
The 40-year-old city manager has built a reputation for her confrontational antics, her inability to do her job, alleged corruption and apparent contempt for her constituents, whom she publicly berated and once with the help of a DJ.
