Another wrote: ‘Omg. Possibly the hottest photo I’ve ever seen. Sophie is the most beautiful player in W[NBA] by a mile.”

“Beautiful,” concluded a third.

While one person joked: ‘I’ll leave this photo on my phone as long as the screen burns in’.

Earlier this week, Cunningham was embroiled in major controversy after WNBA fans alleged she participated in a “racist” photo shoot with Mercury teammate Kahleah Copper.

During the league’s offseason, Phoenix conducted a shoot with three of their players to build some excitement after the fixtures for the 2025 season were released earlier this week.

The marketing stunt saw the duo and fellow security guard Natasha Cloud perform a number of bizarre poses together while dressed in matching black turtleneck, light blue jeans and white socks – but one of the poses caused major controversy.

The photo in question showed Cunningham sitting on Copper while her African-American teammate lay with her feet up on the ground, leading to accusations of racism online.
