WNBA star Kelsey Plum slams Raiders coach after her new husband was traded away DAYS after wedding
WNBA star Kelsey Plum slams Raiders coach Josh McDaniels after new husband Darren Waller was traded to New York DAYS after their wedding, and amid reports he dumped the couple furious by publicly announcing their nuptials.
There may be some trouble in ‘Paradise’ after Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels traded star tight end Darren Waller, just days after Waller married WNBA star Kelsey Plum.
Just ten days ago, Waller and the star point guard for the Las Vegas Aces tied the knot in a private ceremony, which the couple did not intend to reveal publicly at this time.
However, McDaniels ended up leaking to the press that Plum and Waller were getting married at the NFL Combine.
Reports say the couple was furious with McDaniels for leaking the information and became even angrier when the Las Vegas Review-Journal wrote a story announcing that the wedding had been scheduled for later in the week of the combine.
Now, even after McDaniels said Waller “will be a big part of what we do going forward,” the Raiders traded the tight end to the New York Giants for a third-round pick.

This prompted Plum to clap back on Twitter, suggesting that McDaniels wasn’t invited.
This has left the Paradise, Nevada sports power couple fielding questions about the move, with Plum being particularly astute with her Twitter fingers when it comes to McDaniels.
ESPN NFL analyst Robert Griffin III tweeted Tuesday night: ‘Darren Waller JUST MARRIED to the Las Vegas Aces’ Kelsey Plum and Josh McDaniels wedding gift was to trade him to the New York Giants. McDaniels is NOT a romantic.
Plum was astute in her response, quoting a tweet from Griffin and saying, “Probably because he wasn’t invited to the wedding lol.”
Waller had just signed a three-year contract extension with Las Vegas last September worth $51 million.
The Pro-Bowler played in just nine games last NFL season while dealing with a hamstring injury, which led to him spending some time on injured reserve.
Meanwhile, Plum is preparing to help the Aces defend their WNBA title, after defeating the Connecticut Sun in four games. She also recently won the gold medal at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Australia with Team USA.
Last season, the Under Armor-sponsored athlete averaged the most points per game on the team at 20.2. He also averaged five assists, 2.7 rebounds and one steal per game.
Plum is gearing up for the start of the WNBA season, after winning two titles in 2022.
