Six-time WNBA All-Star point guard Jewell Loyd is requesting a trade away from the Seattle Storm in the wake of an investigation into the team’s coaching staff.
Loyd has played her entire WNBA career with Seattle after being taken by the team with the first overall pick in the 2015 draft out of the University of Notre Dame.
The team recently underwent an external investigation into allegations of intimidation and bullying by the team’s coaching staff.
The results of that investigation showed that no violations had been committed by those who worked for the team.
In a statement to ESPN, the team said: “The Storm recently received internal allegations of possible workplace policy violations. The organization retained an outside investigator to conduct an impartial investigation into the allegations.
“The investigation has been completed and there are no findings of policy violations or discrimination, harassment or bullying.”

Since entering the league, Loyd has been one of the best players in the WNBA, winning Rookie of the Year in her debut campaign.
She was named to the All-WNBA first team in 2021 and made the second team twice – including in 2023, when she was the league’s scoring leader.
With Seattle, Loyd won WNBA titles in 2018 and 2020. She also won Olympic gold medals with Team USA in 2021 and 2024.
Her 5,536 career points are the third-best mark in franchise history – behind two WNBA legends in Sue Bird and Lauren Jackson – and is the best among Seattle’s active players.
Loyd currently sits 21st on the WNBA’s all-time points list and is sixth in points among all active WNBA players.
