Angel Reese has criticized the media for insulting her and profiting from the Chicago Sky rookie’s “pain.”
“For the past two years,” she wrote on They allowed this. This was beneficial for them.”
Reese had a disappointing end to her first WNBA season, which ended earlier this month with a wrist injury. The Sky ultimately finished out of the play-off picture.
But the former LSU star didn’t complain about her team’s disappointment or losing AP Rookie of the Year honors to Caitlin Clark. Instead, Reese is angry about the treatment she and other players have faced in what has been a hugely profitable year for the WNBA.
“I sometimes share my experiences with things that have happened to me, but I also let this happen to me for far too long and now other players in this league are dealing with and experiencing the same things,” Reese wrote.

“This is not okay at all,” she continued. “Anything other than criticism of playing the game we love is wrong. I’m sorry for all the players who have/continue to experience the same things as me.’
Reese ended her post by plugging her new podcast, which she sees as a way to communicate with fans without the filter of the media.
“This is why I started my podcast,” she wrote. “To take back my voice and create the story of who I really am. Ultimately, I don’t want any excuses and I don’t think this will ever stop, but something has to change.”
