WNBA legend Sue Bird shuts down speculation she and Megan Rapinoe tied the knot: ‘Sorry for the confusion. I guess the fits were too good’

Sue Bird has debunked speculation that she and fiancée Megan Rapinoe had gotten married, joking that they were too well-dressed for their friends' recent wedding.

The athletic power couple traveled to Wales for the wedding of footballers Jess Fishlock and Tziarra King – two of Rapinoe's former teammates at OL Reign.

And a Instagram post of Bird recapping the event apparently made fans think she and Rapinoe had tied the knot themselves.

The WNBA legend later wrote on her Instagram Story, “PSA: Megan and I are NOT married. Sorry for the confusion. I think the fits were too good.”

For the ceremony, Rapinoe wore a black blazer dress, while Bird wore a white double-breasted jacket.

The special event was also attended by recently retired football star Ali Krieger (left)

Former American football star Rapinoe was also seen wearing a protective boot following her Achilles tear in November.

She was injured in her last ever match for OL Reign before retiring.

However, the 38-year-old seemed to be having a great time at the wedding she attended with her partner Bird.

“Congratulations to the two most beautiful brides I have ever seen,” she wrote in a post Instagram post of herself. 'To long life and long love. May you always have so much fun❤️ Thank you for a few wonderful days.'

The wedding was also attended by fellow soccer player Ali Krieger, who played 108 games for the U.S. women's national team.

Like Rapinoe, 39-year-old Krieger also retired last month after playing for Gotham FC this season.

Her team defeated Rapinoe's in the NWSL finals.

Krieger recently split from former USWNT teammate Ashlyn Harris.
