Wix has released a new SEO tool (opens in new tab) which it says allows users to view and edit meta tags for any page, as well as URL slugs, indexability, and open graph tags.
The update is available now and gives businesses the ability to customize SEO-related elements, such as structured data markup, from a single settings page: the Wix dashboard.
Wix says its users can use the new SEO settings for main website pages and product pages, and is working to make it available to blog sites (opens in new tab).
Wix SEO update
For the past two years, Wix has focused heavily on improving its SEO offerings associated with its popular website builder (opens in new tab) maintenance.
This new tool complements Wix’s range of SEO-related releases, including the site inspection (opens in new tab) tool and Semrush integration (opens in new tab).
With the goal of giving its users the tool to compete on search engines, Wix says it’s focused on making this new tool with SEO features on a single page in its Wix Editor. This gives users a complete view of all their meta tags, helping them better understand what needs to be improved and adjusted.
“The SEO Settings tool helps users apply the same SEO logic to many pages at once,” Wix said in a written PDF emailed to Tech Radar Pro.
“Instead of editing the settings of a single page, users can adjust the settings that apply to the entire section, folder, or collection of pages at once. This way, users can set up a systematic SEO strategy much faster and optimize their pages at scale. These basic settings include default meta tags for each page type, social preview, and more information about their pages’ structured data.
Tech Radar Pro has reached out to Wix to find out what kind of SEO pain points users have been experiencing that led to the development of the new update, but the company has yet to respond.
