Richard White took the title of Australia’s richest boss last week after mining magnates Andrew ‘Twiggy’ Forrest and his wife Nicola announced their separation.

But the Wisetech co-founder may regret the day he transitioned from a little-known executive to a headline-grabbing figure, given the inevitable scrutiny that comes with it.

His girlfriend Zena Nasser has been thrust into the limelight with her glamorous lifestyle and love of luxury items coming to light.

Less glossy details about her past have also surfaced after Nasser was accused in 2007 of sharing an “improper relationship” with an inmate while working as a criminal defense attorney.

She recently flaunted her wealth after sharing an “unintentionally hilarious” TikTok video made by her teenage daughter on her personal Facebook page, the AFR’s rear window column reported.

Ms. Nasser’s Facebook page is now locked. Her LinkedIn and Instagram accounts appear to have been deleted.

On her Twitter page, she describes herself as “mom and lawyer.”

Ms. Nasser used to work as a criminal defense attorney, acting for members of the notorious biker gang and Michael Ibrahim, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in 2008 after the fatal 2006 stabbing of Robin Nassour.

She also represented convicted murderer Bassam Hamzy.

In 2009, the Daily Telegraph reportedly described her as “the Rolex-wearing, Gucci-clad daughter of a Lebanese developer.”

She told the newspaper that she doesn’t understand “the fascination with women representing bicycles.”

But she was reportedly banned by NSW Corrective Services in 2007 from entering any prison in the state for up to two years.

The ban came after she was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a prisoner.

Her boyfriend of three years took the top spot on the AFR’s Rich Bosses List after Dr. Forrest announced last Wednesday night that he was divorcing his wife of 31 years Nicola Forrest, wiping out $20 billion from his personal fortune.

The Rich bosses List ranks the richest executives of the 300 largest companies on the Australian stock exchange based on the value of their shareholdings in the company.

WiseTech is a software company focused entirely on the logistics industry that Mr. White founded in 1994 after a few other successful companies and a brief career in a rock’n’roll band in his twenties.

The company was listed on the ASX in 2016 when Mr White was 60 and made him a billionaire the following year.

White has described himself as a “refugee” from the music industry who is close friends with iconic Aussie band The Angels and once repaired guitars for AC/DC’s Angus and Malcolm Young.

Although his first love was music, he decided that the business world was more suited to him – first earning money from guitar repair and then moving into stage lighting.

White’s $10.5 billion stake in this company gives him an edge over Forrest, who, following a reshuffling following his divorce from his wife, has a $9.2 billion stake in Fortescue Metals Group.
