Winner’s response to winning $2.5million or a brand new house from The Block leaves Mr Lambo in disbelief

An entrepreneur known as 'Mr Lambo' was left speechless after the winner of a multi-million prize hung up on him while delivering the life-changing news.

Adrian Portelli, 34, was shocked after calling Michelle from Sydney to tell her she had won her choice: $2.5 million in cash or a $5 million house he bought on the final season of The Block .

Portelli, the founder of luxury prize club LMCT+, was tasked with organizing the high-stakes lottery, which saw at least 45,000 people tune in to watch the winner be announced via a Facebook livestream on Christmas Eve.

The winner could choose between the money or a house designed and built by The Block winners Steph and Gian in Melbourne's Hampton East.

The entrepreneur is seen calling Michelle's number in anticipation of the life-changing news on the live stream.

However, the Sydney woman appeared confused and exhausted by his call and hung up after telling Portelli, “I don't know the technology.”

The entrepreneur became increasingly agitated as he called her back several times before texting her and trying to leave a voicemail.

“What the hell is going on?” he told his viewers.

'Phones are not new technology.

“We have people who don't answer their phones, that's one thing.

“I don't know if Michelle knows how to use a phone, so I think we're in a bit of a pickle here.”

A disappointed Portelli drew two runners-up who received $10,000 and $5,000 respectively, before ending the livestream.

Portelli finally got hold of Michelle on Christmas Day to deliver the life-changing news.

“Crikey, it was very difficult to get hold of you,” he said to Michelle.

“I can't believe I'm talking to you.”

Portelli told Michelle and her husband Roger that three prizes had been drawn the night before and that was true won first prize.

'Is this real?' Michelle asked in shock as she suppressed her tears.

'We are a bit in shock, I feel sick, this is surreal. I can not think straight.'

She explained that she initially thought the call was a scam and did not want to answer it.

“It's Christmas and we started having drinks,” Michelle added.

Portelli later revealed that the couple had opted to take the $2.5 million in cash.

The entrepreneur bought three properties on The Block this past season after competing on last year's series, where he was accused of being a dummy bidder when he bought the home of 2022 season winners Omar and Oz.

In addition to Steph and Gian's $5 million home, which sold for a whopping $1.65 million above reserve at auction, Portelli also bought second sisters Eliza and Liberty's pad for $4.3 million, along with the home of Kyle and Leslie from Perth for $3.1 million.

“After falling behind last year, I had to prove that I am not a dummy bidder and came out hard and strong,” Portelli told The Block.

'I feel like this is the most appealing house to a wide audience and yes, it was the favorite and I won it.'

Steph and Gian said the sale had changed their lives.

'We have no idea yet what we are going to do with the money. It's going to pay off our debt in Sydney. It will set us up for whatever the next phase is,” they said.

“It's just incredible.”
