Windows 11 22H2 is the first major update to Microsoft’s latest operating system, and unfortunately it seems to have introduced some annoying issues for some users, including poor gaming performance.

One of the most frustrating issues afflicts people with Nvidia graphics cards, with some gamers complaining that their frames per second (fps) have dropped, causing games to perform poorly while also affecting audio. Other gamers have noticed that games stutter due to fps drops.
Windows Latest also reports that Nvidia is investigating these issues itself and asking affected gamers for data to identify the problem. Hopefully a fix will appear soon as both Nvidia and Microsoft are investigating.
Microsoft has also been accused of ignoring reports from Windows Insiders who had tried Windows 11 22H2 in the months leading up to its release, as some had pointed to poor game performance during this testing period. For Microsoft to go ahead and release this update without addressing those issues first is definitely not going to be a good thing.
There have also been reports of the dreaded Blue Screen of Death errors appearing while the update is installing.
Microsoft needs to address these issues and make sure they aren’t too widespread — and that they’re resolved quickly. If not, Windows 11’s reputation could take another dent.
How to fix bad game performance in Windows 11 22H2?
If you are experiencing poor game performance since installing Windows 11 22H2, then uninstalling the update seems to be the easiest way to fix it. People who have done this have noticed that the game performance returns to normal.
To do this, open the Start menu and click on the Settings icon of a gear. Go to ‘System’ and then click ‘Recovery’ and choose the ‘Go back’ option. You should see an option for ‘Back to early build’ – click that and Windows 11 will revert to the previous version.
You can also wait for Microsoft and Nvidia to release fixes to the issues. This will likely come in the form of a driver update from Nvidia or a hotfix update from Microsoft.
