Wimborne: Man is killed in skydiving tragedy as police seize parachute for investigation

A man died after falling too hard while skydiving in central NSW on Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to Mount Borah on Wimborne Road in Wimborne, 470km north of Sydney, at noon to reports of a skydiving accident.

Witnesses told police that the man was “severely hit” upon landing.

Paramedics attempted to treat the man but were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers from Oxley Police District have established a crime scene in the area and are now investigating the incident, which is currently being treated as an accident.

They also seized the man’s parachute and equipment for examination.

A report will now be prepared for the coroner.
