Uncle’s ominous jailyard threat to the chef accused of murdering teen looking for a lift home in Wilton

The uncle of a teenager who was allegedly stabbed to death while trying to get a lift home has blasted his accused killer online.

The 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was camping with friends in Wilton, southwest of Sydney, on Friday evening when he was allegedly stabbed by 32-year-old Jacob Greig.

Police will allege that the boy, looking for a lift home, tried to open Greig’s car door, enraging the professional chef and slashing the teenager with a knife before driving away.

The 15-year-old’s body was found in bushland off Wilton Park Road on Saturday morning, with Greig arrested shortly after reporting to Narellan police station.

The teenager’s uncle has since unleashed angry messages on Greig online, threatening to tell his prison mates about the charges the 32-year-old was facing.

‘He was fifteen. He [allegedly] I just wanted to go home,” the uncle wrote on Sunday.

“Wait until I let my friends inside know.”

Meanwhile, other family members have broken their silence as the Picton community mourns the teenager, who is remembered as ‘selfless’ and ‘loyal’.

On Instagram, his younger sister wrote: “I love you [name redacted].

‘I’m going to miss you so much big brother.

“Stay safe up there.”

Greig, accused of murder, is a professional chef who uses the nickname ‘Harry Potter’ on social media.

In his biography he describes himself as a ‘professional pyromaniac’.

Greig faced Parramatta Local Court on Sunday via video livestream, with three of his family members attending in person.

The court was told the 15-year-old boy had tried to open the rear passenger door of a vehicle Greig was in, with video and audio of the incident capturing the teenager saying: ‘I’m trying to get home’.

At one point Greig got out of the vehicle, with Magistrate Robert Rabbidge saying there was footage of Greig saying: ‘I’m going to get you bloody good’.

He then allegedly said: ‘I’m going to cut your bloody hand off,’ the court was told.

Greig allegedly told police he “dismembered the victim before returning to the vehicle,” Rabbidge said.

However, the court was told that footage showed Greig chasing the victim on foot.

“The facts indicate that prior to the injury… the suspect had threatened to kill the young person and cut off his hand,” Mr Rabbidge said.

He said the boy was “bleeding profusely” after he was allegedly cut with the knife.

“It appears to be a very strong case, I recognize that after I cut the young person with the knife, causing the victim to suffer a serious laceration to the right forearm… the victim began to bleed profusely,” the magistrate said.

The boy reportedly tried to jump on the car as it drove away, while his friends found him dead the next morning.

The court was told a blood trail was found stretching for about 30 meters at the end of Wilton Rd.

‘Much would depend on the autopsy, which has yet to take place, but I note the facts where it is stated that at 7.30 the next morning the victim’s friends walked out of the camp… [alleged] victim covered in blood,” Mr Rabbidge said.

He said there was “nothing more serious than the alleged murder of a 15-year-old.”

“The facts are quite extraordinary and appear to contain a significant amount of strong evidence,” he added.

“It is clearly an extraordinary case… Mr Greig faces decades in prison,” the magistrate said of the charges, if proven.

“I must do my duty to the community and refuse him bail.”

Police prosecutor McCormack said a blood-stained knife was found in a rubbish bin.

‘I know that the [alleged] victim… was covered in a significant amount of blood in a grassy area,” Mr McCormack told the court, with a blood trail “possibly extending up to 30 meters along the roadway… at the end of Wilton Park.”

Greig’s aunt and two other family members appeared distressed during the proceedings, with the aunt breaking down in tears just outside the courtroom.

Lawyer Javid Faiz proposed a condition of house arrest, noting the circumstances are “tragic.”

Greig’s partner is expected to give birth to their child within a month, with his partner suffering from health problems including autism and panic disorder.

Greig works as a chef at Bargo Sports Bar, while his partner is unemployed.

Greig was refused bail and will appear in Campbelltown Local Court on January 8, 2025.

Superintendent Tim Calaman told reporters on Saturday that a group of about a dozen teenagers had camped in the area overnight.

No one is accused of any wrongdoing.

Police believe the incident took place on Friday evening, but were not informed until 7.35am the next day.

Emotional tributes have been posted online for the young boy, with a friend saying he was the ‘purest heart and kindest soul’.

‘Last night heaven received the precious wings of [name redacted]the friend wrote.

“At the same time, we lost the most caring and selfless boy who ever existed.

“To my dearest friend, you made the world a better place. Nothing could brace me for this heartbreaking event. I will forever miss your presence and sense of humor.

“Rest in peace sweet boy.”

Police are appealing for anyone with knowledge of the incident, dashcam or mobile footage to come forward, as well as anyone who may have been in the area since 6pm on Friday.
