William Friedkin dead at 87: The Exorcist and The French Connection director dies in Los Angeles, wife Sherry Lansing confirms
William Friedkin died Monday morning at the age of 87 in Los Angeles.
The news was shared by his 79-year-old wife, Sherry Lansing, who was a film producer and studio head and now works with charities.
The Oscar winner had directed the big hit films The French Connection and The Exorcist.
William had also worked on it Sorcerer from 1977, To Live And Die in LA from 1985 and Bug from 2006.
