The Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway to the United Kingdom this morning.

Kate, 41, and Prince William, 40, held a meeting with the Norwegian royal couple, both 49, at Windsor Castle.

Dressed to impress, Kate, a mother of three, donned a green Burberry suit and matching top from the brand for the occasion.

Looking equally elegant, Mette-Marit, who married heir to the throne Haakon in 2001, wore a vibrant red long-sleeved gown as she posed for a group photo with the other royals.

Her husband, Haakon, donned a smart navy suit, like William, and opted for a patterned blue tie. The Prince of Wales, for his part, wore a red tie.

The Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway to the UK this morning.

Kate, who last met the Norwegian royal couple in 2018 along with William, paired her striking suit with an upcycled green bow blouse from Burberry and added a touch of glitz to her look with a pair of dainty earrings.

Meanwhile, looking effortlessly chic, Mette-Marit completed her look with some glam makeup, while keeping her curly hair down.

The meeting was held with representatives from leading Norwegian companies working on green energy solutions: Alex Grant, UK Senior Vice President and Country Manager, Equinor, Øivind Eriksen, CEO, Aker ASA, Børre Jacobsen, Managing Director , Northern Lights JV.

His Excellency Wegger Chr. Strømmen, Norwegian Ambassador to the UK, was also present at the second meeting.

Haakon and Mette-Marit’s two-day visit aims to promote a larger business sector with a focus on green industrial transition, innovation and energy together with the promotion of Norwegian literature and music.

Yesterday, Mette-Marit put on a glamorous display when she attended the Norway Night networking reception at Lindley Hall in London, along with her husband.

Stepping out in a shimmering navy blue dress, and proving to be the queen of color matching, the mother-of-three paired her stunning gown with navy blue heels and a matching clutch.

With a dropped hem and ruffled three-quarter sleeves, the fashionable maxi dress boasted a statement shoulder padding.

Letting her eye-catching dress speak for itself, the princess opted to forgo any sparkly accessories for her outing last night.

Her husband Haakon, heir to the Norwegian throne, looked equally sophisticated in a navy blue suit and pink tie.

The royal couple were photographed on stage during the reception, each holding notes believed to be for delivering a speech. Mette-Marit donned a pair of silver-rimmed glasses as she joined her husband onstage.

Haakon is heir apparent to the throne of Norway. Despite being older, his sister, Princess Märtha Louise of Norway, is fourth in line to the throne due to Norwegian succession rules.

Mette-Marit was born a commoner to farmers in Norway and was a single mother when she became engaged to Crown Prince Haakon in 2000.

She became crown princess after the couple’s marriage in 2001. Mette Marit has spent her reign championing humanitarian projects while joining in on official visits.

Their first official appearance was at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony at Oslo City Hall on December 10, 2000, following the couple’s engagement announcement on December 1.

On the other hand, the Prince and Princess of Wales have also had a busy week. Kate accompanied her husband, William, who was paying his first visit to the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards at Combermere Barracks in Windsor as their newly appointed Regimental Colonel on St David’s Day.

It was a position King Charles had held since 1975, with his son and heir taking over in December.

The Prince and Princess met many of the families of Welsh Guardsmen, as well as Australian Army men and women who are based in the UK to help train Ukrainian soldiers.

Kate received a bouquet of flowers from Elsi-Haf Cunningham, a seven-year-old royal fan, who was wearing a traditional Welsh costume as her father took part in the parade.

Her mother, Krystal Cunningham, 59, said her daughter will remember the moment for the rest of her life.

“It was a very proud moment, she absolutely loves the royal family, but she’s only seen Kate on TV,” he said, adding: “It was a great moment for her.”

Kate wore glamorous makeup with pink lipstick and dark smoky eyes. And for the occasion, she wore a replica leek brooch belonging to her late grandmother-in-law, the Queen.

It was presented to the late monarch as a gift from the regiment and was financed by the guards themselves, who paid 12 and a half pence each.

In the decades that followed, the Queen made sure to wear the pin at most events involving the Welsh Guards.

Established in 1915 by King George V, the Welsh Guards are a battalion of light infantry based in Pirbright, Surrey. They have taken part in almost every campaign of the British Army since the First World War.

William’s acquisition was announced ahead of this year’s Trooping the Colour, which marked the official birthday of the British sovereign for more than 250 years.

The King’s Birthday Parade, Charles’ first, will take place at a slightly later date on June 17. The King’s actual birthday is November 14.

You will see the Domestic Division in Parade of Guards on Horseback, with the assistance of the monarch and the salute. There are seven regiments of the higher military unit, which is responsible for fulfilling state public and ceremonial duties.

The reigning monarch normally has the appointment of colonel-in-chief of the regiments, but each also has a colonel who is usually a member of the Royal Family or a senior officer.
