Will the ultra-rare Super Blue Moon bring you luck… or lunacy? Astrology fans reveal tips for how to harness the power of the lunar phenomenon – while AVOIDING its adverse effects

The night sky around the world is lit up this week by a ‘Super Blue Moon’ in a spectacle that marks the end of the month.

And the lunar event, which will take place in Pisces on August 30, is not to be missed.

The term Blue Moon is the name given to the second full moon of a calendar month, which is rare in itself and occurs every two to three years.

But having a Blue Moon coincide with a Super Moon is even more spectacular.

A Supermoon occurs when a Full Moon nearly coincides with its perigee — the point in the Moon’s orbit at which it is closest to Earth.

The two events that coincide on the same night occur on average only once every 10 years, according to NASA, but the next one won’t happen until 2037.

And as a result, the rare phenomenon has given rise to a whole series of superstitions and rituals that are already spreading across the US.

From avoiding shopping to closing the curtains, here’s FEMAIL’s laid bare the do’s and don’ts when the moonlight is at its peak.

Three of the biggest things to watch out for during a Super Blue Moon

Shima Chayvet, founder of the Universal Healing Arts Center, is one of those who used TikTok to share her wisdom leading up to the lunar phenomenon.

She issued some stark warnings about “the rare cosmic event that has deep spiritual significance.”

Shima, of Cortlandt Manor, New York, began, “Let’s talk about this big Super Blue Moon that’s going to happen on the 30th — there’s a lot of superstition around that.

“You’d better close your curtains, because if the light of that moon touches you while you sleep, it will cause madness.”

She continued, “A lot of people think this is a good time for women to get pregnant, so be careful if you don’t want that to happen.

And the expert concluded: “If you pick flowers during this moon, it brings beauty to the beholder.”

In the caption, she urged her 40,000 followers to once again “embrace the energy” the phenomenon will bring.

Rapidly manifests itself by burning bay leaves

Content creator Tyvona Tennyson also shared how best to manifest during the coming cosmic event.

Speaking directly to the camera, she revealed, “If you want to manifest at lightning speed, here’s what you need to do.”

Tyvonna, who describes herself as an Earth Angel, then pulled out a packet of dried leaves and said, “I want you to get some bay leaves.”

‘It doesn’t matter how many you use, but on each bay leaf you write your wishes, wishes and goals.

“After you’ve done this, find a container, pot, or something else that’s fireproof. You’re going to need this, because you’re going to burn the bay leaves.’

She added, “As these bay leaves burn, I want you to imagine that you already have all the desires you wrote on the bay leaf.”

“Once they’re completely burned to ashes, collect the remains and bury them in your backyard or in a houseplant.”

Tyvonna, who runs a website called Finding Fate, said that as an alternative, you can “find a nearby pond or lake and throw it into the moving water.”

“While this is happening, thank God and the universe for helping you achieve your goals. Then check your mailbox, bank account, email and voicemails for new money and new opportunities,” she added.

What NOT to do this Super Blue Moon

Other TikTok users have taken a different approach and instead laid out what to actively avoid during this week’s lunar event.

US-based Shika took to the platform with these words of advice: “Number one: Don’t ignore your dreams…

“Dreams are telepathic channel messages that allow us to understand what our soul is going through.

So for this Full Moon, instead of wasting our time exploring its meaning, focus on how the unseen is communicating something greater. What is the bigger picture of the collective? What’s the bigger picture about protecting myself and protecting Mother Earth?’

She continued, “Number two, don’t be crazy about the news and don’t watch thriller movies. You’re so sensitive (during a Super Blue Moon) and you absorb everything like a sponge, so now’s a good time to just kind of skip that. Skip those series and horror movies.’

Shika’s things to avoid during this time

  1. Don’t ignore your dreams
  2. Don’t watch the news or thriller movies
  3. Don’t go shopping
  4. Do not close off your natural gifts

Then Shika replied, “This is very human, but don’t go shopping.

“This Full Moon is all about letting things go and changing your environment — that includes cleaning.

“And when we go shopping, especially at a time when we get a lot of information from the astral space, many of us will try to cope with our materialistic human world by bringing more things and buying things.

“As we buy more things and create more stuff in our space, it becomes difficult to receive the messages we need to receive.

“So this is just a time for us not to buy a lot and this is also a really good time to learn how to calm yourself down in a natural and more nourishing way that isn’t a coping mechanism or a way to work around.” ‘

She concluded, “Finally, don’t close your gifts… because this Full Moon is all about understanding that we are the creators of our reality and those who told us otherwise will go away and your gifts will just blossom. .’

‘Ritual ideas’ will help ‘harness the energy of the powerful Super Full Moon’

Another TikToker, who calls herself Star Girl, let the overlay on her video speak for itself.

She flooded followers with “ritual ideas” for the upcoming Super Blue Moon on Aug. 30.

These include enjoying a nighttime dip under the full moon, shifting timelines using water magic, and setting intentions near an ocean or lake to boost manifestations.

Similarly, she suggested “channeling emotional revelations by writing music or poetry” and using a shower to “visualize the washing away of unwanted energy.”

Star Girl, who claims to be a certified astrologer, added a caption that read, “The full moon in Pisces on August 30 is the most mystical full moon of the year.

‘Intuition, magic and spiritual power will be enhanced.

“Use the energy of the powerful Super Full Moon to boost manifestations, release what holds you back and embrace new opportunities.”
