Will the pro-democracy opposition take power in Thailand?

Parties challenging the military won a major general election victory and are promising major reforms.

Thailand’s opposition received broad support in the country’s general elections and the leader of the Move Forward Party will be the next prime minister.

Pita Limjaroenrat and his coalition must overcome the army-appointed senate, especially as this bloc also gets a say in who becomes prime minister and who forms a government.

But can the opposition’s promised reforms be realized with the military so powerful?
