Tom Brady doesn’t lose often in the sports world, but Will Smith shared the retired quarterback’s rare defeat with the world after his victory in the E1 Series in Italy.
The 55-year-old actor took to social media to mock his rowing rival on Saturday after his team, Westbrook Racing, defeated Team Brady and Team Rafa, despite the fact that the NFL and tennis star’s boats had finished first and second in qualifying 24 hours earlier.
“We won!!! Sorry about that @tombrady – My bad,” Smith wrote in the caption his Instagram post trolling Brady.
“You know, it’s great. I spoke to Tom Brady right before the race… I’m a little boy here,” the Academy Award winner added as he celebrated with his crew on the docks of Lake Como.
Brady later responded in the comments below Smith’s post, “Until next time. I’m happy for you! Enjoy it while it lasts because we’re coming for your a$$”
Will Smith didn’t hold back Tom Brady after his victory in the E1 Series race on Saturday at Lake Como
Brady responded to Smith with a warning: “Enjoy it while it lasts, because we’re coming for your ass.”
Saturday, Smith swapped California for Como, marking his first time cheering on the team. After the race, he joked that he’ll have to come to all the teams in the future.
“I FaceTimed Tom Brady right before the race and told him he beat my team my whole childhood, and I was like, ‘That’s not going to happen here today,'” Smith said, despite technically being eight years older than the seven-time Super Bowl champion.
“This is so much fun, the energy of it, the people and all the teams. I love it, we’re having a ball.”
For now, Team Brady is still at the top of the championship, while Westbrook Racing is in second place, followed by Team Miami. Team Rafa is in fourth place.

The E1 Lake Como GP was the second time the championship was held in Italy, giving a country obsessed with motorsport a glimpse into the future of racing.
Rodi Basso, CEO and co-founder of E1, said: ‘From having two of the world’s biggest superstars here, Will Smith and Rafa Nadal, to our stunning surroundings at the world-famous Villa d’Este hotel, to a weekend of unpredictable racing – no one in the world is doing what E1 is doing right now.
‘Lake Como, a true Italian wonder, has provided the most beautiful backdrop for this event. The weekend was exhilarating with danger at every turn – we are creating a new sport that continues to amaze and excite, and believe us, this is just the beginning.’
The next E1 Series race has yet to be confirmed. Earlier this year, races took place in Jeddah, Venice, Marbella and Monaco.
