Will Smith offers fans a behind-the-scenes look at filming Bad Boys 4 in Miami with Martin Lawrence and Fat Joe

Will Smith filmed Bad Boys 4 in Miami, Florida and recently wrapped production on the film.

The Men in Black star, 55, shared a behind-the-scenes look from his recent days in Miami, including photos with co-star Martin Lawrence, 58, rapper Fat Joe, 55, and DJ Skrillex, 36.

Will also shared a short video clip of himself in his hotel suite eating plain spaghetti with his hands. He captioned the post: “Miami roll.”

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air alum stars in the fourth installment of the Bad Boys franchise as Detective Lt. Mike Lowrey, opposite Lawrence as Detective Lt. Marcus Burnett.

Production resumed on February 26, after a seven-month hiatus due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.

Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah expected the film to be completed in the summer, but production was abruptly halted after the actors’ strike began on July 31.

Although principal photography on the film was completed before the shutdown, reshoots were required to complete the film.

‘WRAPPED UP! Nothing but magic every time I’m with my husband. See you June 7 for @BADBOYS 4!!, Smith wrote on Instagram on Monday, March 4.

The film and the rush to finish editing have begun as Bad Boys 4 premieres in the US on June 7.

The plot for the film has been kept under wraps, but is expected to follow the franchise formula of focusing on the antics and investigations of narcotics officers Mike and Marcus as they take down dangerous criminals.

Vanessa Hudgens, 35, reprises her role as Kelly, a weapons expert first introduced in 2020’s Bad Boys For Life.

Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, DJ Khaled and Jacob Scipio are also back to reprise their roles.

Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Rhea Seehorn and Joyner Lucas all also star in the film.

The previous three films were hugely successful at the worldwide box office, with the original Bad Boys (1995) grossing $141.4 million against a budget of $19 million.

Eight years later, Bad Boys II (2003) did even better at the box office, grossing $273.3 million, although its bloated $130 million budget ate up much of the extra profit.

The third installment, Bad Boys For Life (2020), ultimately became the biggest hit of the three productions, earning $426.5 million while working on a $90 million budget.

Bad Boys 4 went into development that same year.

However, progress on the film was reportedly halted in April 2022 due to Will’s infamous ‘slapgate’ scandal at the Oscars.
