An Australian artist who has become internet famous has shared the moment he turned red in the face during a conversation with Hollywood megastar Will Smith.
Sam Cotton, who is best known for his hilarious animated videos, posted a direct message on Instagram on Monday that he said he received from the 55-year-old actor.
The screenshot showed a message from Will asking Sam to collaborate, to which the social media star quickly responded with an enthusiastic message saying he agreed.
However, he soon went into a fit of rage when he sent Will a unique idea for a collaboration involving frozen peas, claiming he hadn’t heard from the American star since.
The message Will allegedly sent on June 3 read: “Hey Sam! I was just looking at your stuff, I love the creativity. What can we do to collaborate?”
To which Sam – who has over 1 million Instagram followers – replied: ‘HELL YES WILL!!! I nearly fainted when I read this. Let me come up with some ideas today and send them to you! Thanks for the kind words mate!’
Sam, who is known for his hilarious talking animations of inanimate objects, claimed he had sent Will a voice message with an idea for a collaboration on frozen peas.
In the post, Sam explained that in the animation, Will opens his freezer and takes out an old and forgotten bag of frozen peas, then has a funny conversation with them.

He explained, “Everybody has something in their freezer that they’ve forgotten about and that’s been there for years. You open your freezer and in the back corner are these frozen peas from 1996.
“When you take them out, it’s like unfreezing a caveman from the past. When he wakes up, it’s all messed up, like, ‘Where am I? What year is this? Will is that you?'”
“Then you have to apologize because you completely forgot about him and he doesn’t know how successful you’ve become, so he’s like, ‘How did that audition for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air go? Did it go well?'”
“Anyway, you have this healthy catch-up, but it just ends up with you throwing it in the trash, you know? Anyway, that’s just an idea about peas, I have other ideas if you’re interested.”
However, it seems Will wasn’t a fan of the unique idea, as Sam claimed he hadn’t heard from him in a month since their exchange, leaving him red in the face.
He shared the posts on Instagram and captioned them, “Guys what did I do? Will Smith messaged me about collaborating and I messaged him an idea to talk to frozen peas and then I never heard from him again. What was I thinking?”
Sam Cotton claimed that Will contacted him and asked him to collaborate, prompting him to send an excited voice message outlining his unique idea, to which the actor subsequently did not respond.
Although Will didn’t seem too keen on the idea, the reactions from some notable names ensured they gave their approval.
American actor and producer David Arquette, Courteney Cox’s ex-husband, wrote: “I loved the idea.”
Love Island Australia presenter Sophie Monk also expressed her support, saying: “Good idea too.”
MasterChef Australia judge Poh Ling Yeow added: “How mysterious.”
And Colin From Accounts co-creator Patrick Brammall wrote: ‘I think this is so amazing. Really bad. The fact that it happened, that you didn’t hear about it, that you shared it, that he might still contact you. Great.’
Responding to Patrick’s comment, Sam admitted, “I’m getting more insecure about the idea every day…”
His fans also responded positively to the comments and expressed their hope that Will would agree to the sketch, resulting in a series of puns, even suggesting The Fresh Peas of Bel-Air as a title.

One of them joked, “That’s way funnier than actually working with him.”
Another wrote: ‘Fresh peas from Bel-Air,’ while a third joked: ‘Maybe he adapted his peas to the situation.’
A fourth commented: ‘And just like that you were forgotten, just like those peas. Poetic.’
A fifth added: ‘I’ve heard @willsmith is really difficult to deal with.’
