Will King Charles break from tradition this Easter?

While Easter is a time for families to come together, this year will undoubtedly be bittersweet for the Royal Family as they celebrate the occasion without Queen Elizabeth II.

This weekend marks the British royal family’s first Easter without the late monarch after she died aged 96 on September 8, 2022. It is also the second anniversary of her devoted husband Prince Philip’s death on Sunday.

As is tradition, the royals, such as King Charles and Queen Camilla, as well as the Prince and Princess of Wales, are expected to gather in Windsor for the holiday weekend.

However, now that Charles is the head of the Firm, it is believed that some relaxation of the late Queen’s strict dining rules will be forthcoming, according to a royal expert.

Meanwhile, mum-of-three Kate, 41, will reportedly host an Easter egg hunt for the royal children over the weekend.

“Kate is a great organizer and will almost certainly organize an Easter egg hunt – the kids can also go to the royal stables and see the horses there and there’s an indoor swimming pool and ponies for them to ride,” royal expert Ingrid Seward told The sun.

The royal family – which includes members such as Princess Anne, Prince Edward and the Duchess of Edinburgh – will attend church service in St George’s Chapel on Sunday.

On their return, they enjoy a roast dinner together with menu items sourced from the royal estates, such as venison, pheasant chicken, spring vegetables, new potatoes, carrots, salmon and roast ham.

But Majesty Magazine’s editor-in-chief, Ms. Seward, suggested there might be one Queen Elizabeth dinner rule that Charles could relax.

She explained, “They will all eat together, but not the young children who will eat in the nursery dining room.

‘The Queen used to say they shouldn’t eat at the table until they could hold a knife and fork properly, but Charles might have relaxed that rule. But dinner is for adults only.’

It comes after King Charles and Queen Consort updated their social media accounts ahead of the coronation.

The profile photos for the royal family’s social media pages were refreshed with the new official portrait of the monarch, 74, and his wife, 75, released this week along with the official coronation invitation.

As is tradition, the royals, such as King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla, as well as the Prince and Princess of Wales (pictured on Easter Sunday 2022 with Prince George and Princess Charlotte), are expected to converge on Windsor for the holiday. weekend

However, with Charles (pictured Thursday) now head of the Firm, it is believed there will be some relaxation of the late Queen’s strict dinner rules, according to a royal expert.

The portrait of Their Majesties was done last month in Buckingham Palace’s Blue Drawing Room by Hugo Burnand, who will also be taking their official coronation photos.

Dressed in blue to match her husband, Camilla wears a favorite Fiona Clare dress with a pearl necklace with diamond clasp and pearl earrings.

The image can now be seen on the Royal Family’s Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube accounts ahead of the May 6 coronation at Westminster Abbey.

Updates to the royal family’s social media profiles have happened before, usually changing the pages to show more sombre images for Remembrance Day every November, say for about a week.
