Will Johnson and Shedeur Sanders top the list of the top 100 players in EA Sports College Football 25

College football is just a week away from making its return to video games, and to celebrate, EA has been releasing new tidbits about the game over the past few days. Each preview was more exciting than the last, but it wasn’t until Tuesday’s addition that the match finally began to feel imminent: a list of the top 100 rated players.

The list is presented in a nice spreadsheet format, allowing you to sort by team, conference, position, and even individual attributes. Sure, the list is filled with some of the most recognizable names in college football, like Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders and Michigan CB Will Johnson, but there are plenty of surprises to be found as well.

Top 10 players

The top 10 players in this year’s contest see a variety of positions and schools represented, but three (Michigan, Ohio State and Georgia) have multiple players represented. Those top 10 players are:

  2. LSU left tackle Will Campbell
  3. Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II
  4. James Pearce Jr., Tennessee defensive end.
  5. Ohio State safety Caleb Downs
  6. Colorado wide receiver Travis Hunter
  7. Georgia safety Malaki Starks
  8. Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham
  9. Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins
  10. Georgia offensive lineman Tate Ratledge

Johnson, Campbell and Gordon II are all 96 overall, while the rest of the top 10 are 95 overall. There are no players above 96 overall in the game at release. Hunter is one of three cover athletes for the game, along with Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers (ranked 27th and 92nd overall) and Michigan running back Donovan Edwards (ranked 49th and 91st overall).

Quarterbacks are always an area of ​​increasing interest, as no position has a greater impact on your playing style. Eight quarterbacks are included in the game’s top 100 players:

The best represented schools in the top 100 are Ohio State (8 players), Alabama (6 players), Georgia (6 players), reigning national champion Michigan (5 players) and Oregon (5 players).

These ratings are carried over between each mode College Football 25with the one exception of Ultimate Team, where players have their own unique ratings based on which specific card of theirs you use. These ratings will also likely change somewhat throughout the season, as breakout players emerge and at least a few players fail to live up to their lofty pre-season expectations.

EA Sport College Football 25 is set to release on July 19, but if you pre-order the Deluxe Edition, you’ll get early access starting July 15 at 4:00 PM ET.
