will.i.am reveals it took 12 years to release new Britney Spears track Mind Your Business
Will.i.am has revealed that it took 13 years to release his latest song with Britney Spears, Mind Your Business.
The track, released on July 21, is the fourth song the two hitmakers have collaborated on after Big Fat Bass, Scream & Shout and It Should Be Easy and her second single since the end of her 13-year conservatorship.
Speaking to Rylan Clarke and Josie Gibson on Tuesday’s This Morning, the 48-year-old rapper explained their recording process.
He explained: ‘I’ve always loved working with Britney, she’s amazing. We originally recorded that song in 2011, the lyrical part.
“It took so long, as if it takes grapes to go from grapes, from rapeseed juice, to wine for the same reason. It takes time for things to ferment.”

Speaking about his dream collaboration, the musician said: ‘Rhianna, I’ve done something with her in the past, Beyonce, I’ve done the Break My Soul remix, but to rock with them now would be great. They are favorites.’
In July, will.i.am revealed how Britney sang about ‘the price of fame’ on their new song Mind Your Business, ahead of its release.
He began, “We live in a world where people are pressured to share every moment and if they don’t, they feel like they’re missing out or don’t belong. That shouldn’t be the case.
‘Britney talks about the price of that level of fame, you can’t even go to Tesco, you can’t go to the supermarket. You can’t leave the house without there being a prize on the photo.’
The Black Eyed Peas star previously told how he first met Britney at the Rock in Rio festival in Portugal in 2007.
He explained, “I was a fan of hers for years before I met her. When I heard Toxic I thought: what is this? This is the most amazing wow sauce.
“We talked about things we were passionate about and I wrote them down and built on them.”
