Wild footage of the moment a 78-year-old drove into an optician and drove off before being stopped by police has surfaced online.
The man, who has not been identified, is said to have “had a medical condition” after his vehicle crashed into the store in Kenner, Louisiana.
The video that circulated online shows the man accelerating backwards in RX Optical next to Babin Physical Therapy around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.
A bystander could be seen trying to inspect the accident, before the man came running out of the destroyed storefront as a responding officer arrived at the scene.

The person filming the chaos heard you screaming “woah, holy s**t” as the car continued to drive into the business.
“Oh my god, oh my god,” she says as she runs off as the car’s engine can be heard inside the store.
The video then cuts to the point where the driver drives out of the store and a woman screaming can be heard in the background.
The white vehicle’s bumper is twisted and falls off as the car drives off into the distance before the person filming pans to show a cop running to her car.
Kenner Police said the driver was “trying to park” in front of Babin Physical Therapy for an appointment.
“He accelerated forward, jumped the curb and hit a construction column, damaging the front portion of the therapy suite,” police said in a Facebook post about the incident.
“The driver then reversed the vehicle, reversed into the parking lot, made a 180-degree turn and reversed, jumped the curb and plowed into the construction suite next to Babin Physical.”
Police said he then drove out of the building to the parking lot where he was eventually stopped by officers.

“The driver appeared to be disoriented, unable to answer basic questions and believed to be suffering from an unknown medical condition,” police said.
