Wild moment intense brawl erupts outside of a Sydney cafe as a man arms himself with a chair – before the punch-on takes an unexpected turn

Shocking footage has captured the moment a clash erupted on a busy street, where fighters brandished cafe chairs.

Video showed the fighting between at least nine men outside Corellis Cafe Gallery in Newtown, western Sydney, on Wednesday.

The heated punch-on seemed to take an unexpected turn towards the end, with many Aussies joking that it highlighted the 'Christmas spirit'.

A bystander filmed the altercation from across the street, which showed a shirtless man and another person dressed in a white shirt yelling at each other.

Their friends tried to pull the pair apart before the situation quickly escalated and the man in the white shirt was forced into the seating area of ​​the cafe.

The confrontation seemed to be over as the first group walked away, but a shirtless man stayed behind and yelled at the man in the white shirt.

He came towards him before the man in the white shirt swung the chair at him again, causing his opponent to jump back.

The shirtless man is eventually pulled away from the altercation by a friend.

As the pair begin to walk away, the shirtless man elbows his friend in the face and walks right back to the man in the white shirt, screaming at the top of his lungs.

The man in the white shirt turned to face the shirtless man before jumping into a boxing stance.

In a bizarre twist, the two fighters then hugged each other after trying to shout over each other.

The video was shared on Instagram, where it was viewed hundreds of times.
