Wild moment driver is hauled out of her car after leading police on 100km chase and damaging eight cars

A woman has been arrested after allegedly leading police on a 100km, 90-minute chase from the NSW Southern Highlands to northwest Sydney.

Along the way, the 30-year-old from Victoria reportedly crashed into at least eight vehicles, including a police car, injuring a police officer.

Police allege she refused to get out of her gray Mazda3 when she was first caught speeding at Pheasants Nest on the Hume Highway about 10.30am on Monday.

Imagery obtained by 9News showed her car parked between two police vehicles while two officers on the driver's side talked to her.

Then a third officer went to the passenger side, pulled out his gun and tried to break the window with the butt of it, but a second later the woman drove away.

Police then continued to pursue the woman for approximately 10 km before calling off the chase due to safety concerns, and instead followed the car by helicopter.

The hatchback was later spotted driving through Sydney's southwestern suburbs of Campbelltown and Casula.

Her vehicle turned onto the Cumberland Highway towards Liverpool, Cabramatta, Fairfield West, Smithfield and Merrylands.

The wild ride finally ended at around 12pm in Northmead, almost 100km away from where it started.

About eight vehicles are said to have been hit during the chase, although police suspect more damage may have occurred.

The woman was arrested at the scene and later charged with several offenses including speeding, reckless driving and failure to stop when pursued by police.

She has been refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday.
