Wild moment cops confront driver of out-of-control Toyota Hilux ute in a car park before they are rammed and rushed to hospital

Shocking footage has emerged of the terrifying moment an out-of-control driver rammed two police officers who were later rushed to hospital.

The chaotic scenes unfolded as officers tried to stop a gray Toyota Hilux car in the Star Casino car park on the Gold Coast on Wednesday evening.

According to a statement from Queensland Police, officers heard loud revving, screeching and heavy acceleration coming from a vehicle in the parking lot.

Officers approached the car and ordered the driver to stop the car.

Footage showed an officer telling the motorist to “turn the car off” as he walked to the vehicle.

The driver stopped briefly before the vehicle rammed into one of the officers and sped away Courier mail reported.

The ute returned a short time later and struck the second officer’s hand before leaving the car park onto Casino Drive.

The officers were treated by paramedics for minor injuries and taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.

Police said pedestrians had to jump out of the way after the vehicle drove onto the wrong side of the road.

The ute was last seen driving towards Logan.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and officers are attempting to locate the vehicle and the suspected driver.

No arrests or charges have been filed at this stage.
