Footage emerged of an irate shopkeeper unleashing an expletive-filled tirade at shocked bystanders moments after ramming a parked car in a busy supermarket parking lot.

A stunned passerby filmed his confrontation with the motorist in a Coles car park in Hampton, south-east Melbourne, last Friday.

The video, which has gone viral on TikTok, begins with a man driving a red Honda Civic erratically into a parked silver car while trying to park at a crosswalk near the supermarket.

Several shoppers are seen looking on in horror.

“Geez, dude, that’s pretty close to your car,” a man yells at another passerby.

The father of two decides to confront the erratic driver.

“You just hit that car, dude,” he explained.

The comment elicits a fierce response from the tattooed driver, seen wearing an orange high-visibility vest.

‘Damn dog!’ the motorist yelled.

The passerby replied: ‘Dude, you can’t be driving.’

The clip ends with the motorist backing into another parked car before speeding off onto Bluff Road.

A noticeable dent is seen in the driver’s door, while eagle-eyed onlookers saw that the side mirror in the front passenger door was already dangling before the crash.

Victoria Police confirmed they are aware of and are investigating the road rage incident.

No arrests or charges have been filed thus far.

The TikTok video has attracted more than 1.3 million views and thousands of comments.

Many viewers praised the passerby’s bold move to confront the driver.

‘Oh man you really tried you did a great job here it can’t be easy going up against someone like that hats off to you’ one commented.

The passerby responded: “When you’re a 40-year-old boomer like me with two kids, you don’t want to face people like that anymore.”

Some viewers suggested that he should not have confronted the driver.

Better not confront. Just dial 000. He’s not listening. Good job getting the video,” one commented.

Others questioned why the passerby was filming.

‘Why would someone randomly be filming a parking lot?’ asked one.

Locals also weighed in on the online debate.

“That parking lot is a nightmare at best, but only with this guy driving.”

Some saw the funny side.

“It’s the other cars fault, he was wearing hi vis and he was clearly visible,” one woman joked.

Another added: “At least he’s wearing the hi-vis vest…Safety first!”

Police urge any witnesses or if they have further footage of the incident or the car to contact Crime Stoppers.
