Wild child Hamilton has significant gains to make if he is to win eighth F1 title
Lewis has a tiger in his tank – and in his wardrobe too! But wild child Hamilton has significant gains to make if he wants to win eighth F1 title
He may be the wild child of Formula 1, but Lewis Hamilton will have to earn his stripes today.
The 38-year-old, spotted yesterday dressed head-to-toe in designer tiger print, has significant gains to make this season if he is to win his eighth F1 title.
But he’s clearly in pole position when it comes to his bold fashion sense. The seven-time champion, who drives for Mercedes, was preparing for the Pirelli Grand Prix du Canada.
Spotted in the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve paddock in Montreal, he showed off a £1,260 shirt and matching £1,170 cargo pants from Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta.
He is certainly one of the big cats in the F1 fashion jungle. Last year he wore a striking purple and orange floral print jacket and shorts at the start of the F1 season in Bahrain, and in 2021 he appeared at the circuit in Istanbul in a blue and black Burberry kilt, trousers and jacket .

The 38-year-old driver could sign a new contract with Mercedes ahead of today’s race, which could earn him up to £250 million
Speaking of his clothing style, Hamilton has said: ‘I love being able to break away from the sport. The intensity is difficult for everyone on the track, so to have something different – another outlet, something else to focus on – helps take the weight off.”
He has six months left on his Mercedes deal and has been widely tipped to extend it ahead of today’s 70-lap race. He would like a five-year contract, which could earn him £250 million.
