A teenager has died on an estate after her quad bike crashed.

Emergency services were called to property on the outskirts of Wilcannia – in northwest NSW – around 11:45 am on Saturday.

They had received reports that a 14-year-old girl had been ‘seriously injured’ in a quad bike accident.

The girl died on the spot.

A crime scene has been identified and the investigation into the incident has begun.

This comes just four days after a man died in a quad bike accident in central Victoria.

The 34-year-old died after a quad bike crashed on McLennan Road, Ladys Pass in the early hours of Tuesday 11 April.

In Alice Springs, a 27-year-old man died on Friday, April 7, after his quad bike collided with a motorcycle at a track near Maryvale Rd.

Quad bike safety has been an area of ​​focus for the ACCC, which lobbied for stricter standards in 2018 as record levels of off-road vehicle deaths peaked in Australia.

New safety regulations were introduced in 2019 to reduce quad bike injuries and fatalities.

By 2022 it was found that more than 90 per cent of all new quads sold in Australia met the national safety standard.
