The wife of a US Navy aviator gave him the surprise of his life after he returned home to western Kentucky after a more than two-year mission.
Patrick Brennan, weapons systems officer on an F/A-18 fighter aircraft, has been stationed in Japan since spring 2022. Fox News reported.
His wife Cecilia Brennan told Fox News that her husband often tells her how much he misses friends and hobbies, including hunting.
In one now viral video on her InstagramBrennan caught the moment her husband’s jaw dropped after she revealed his best friends were there to go duck hunting with him.
Earlier, his friends came to his door and Patrick laughed in disbelief when he saw them.
Once they got inside and caught up, Brennan was seen lugging a suitcase down the stairs before handing it to her husband.
She packed all his clothes and hunting gear for him and told him he was going hunting with his friends.
‘Merry christmas! Your wife is amazing!’ you heard one of his friends say.

Patrick said he never planned on hunting so soon, but figured he would go sometime next year or the year after.
‘I was catching up with his closest friends and keeping them informed. They told me they were going on their annual duck hunt to Fowl Plains Outfitter.
“They were thinking about driving from their home in Virginia to Kansas, and I asked if they wanted to come over,” Brennan told Fox.
Fowl Plains Outfitters is located in Great Bend, Kansas, and offers duck and goose hunting.
‘It was already a surprise that his best friends knocked on the door, but when he actually went with him, he was in shock. I still can’t believe we did it,” Brennan added.
The couple has a 6-month-old daughter and Brennan said she and her husband have been apart for most of this year because of his employment.
“After all he has sacrificed, he deserves more than a chance to relax and recharge before jumping into family life,” she said.
Brennan said she is her husband’s biggest fan and supports all of his hobbies.
‘Nothing brings me more joy than knowing he is happy. And now we eat duck at Christmas,” she said.
