Inspired by The Wizard of Oz, Bad film tells us the story of the witches of Oz before the events of that classic story. Emmy and Tony-winning actress and singer Cynthia Erivo (HarrietBroadways The color purple) stars as Elphaba, a witch misunderstood because of her green-colored skin, and global pop star Ariana Grande stars as the perfect pink shimmering witch Glinda. The story follows an unlikely but budding friendship between the two.
The trailer gave us our first big look at the film, and it looks every bit as lavish and fantastic as we’d hope for a film like this. The trailer shows a beautiful emerald green city, winged beasts and magical bubbles carrying Glinda. We also got our first glimpse of Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, the headmistress of Shiz University, and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz.
