Wicked fans are outraged after a major spoiler was revealed on social media ahead of the musical adaptation’s release on Friday.
An X user uploaded a photo with a surprising revelation – and some fans jumped to the comments to share their thoughts.
The first part of the epic fantasy film officially premieres in theaters on November 22 – with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo taking on the lead roles of Glinda and Elphaba, respectively.
Jon M. Chu directed the highly anticipated film adaptation, which also stars Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater and Michelle Yeoh.
Fans were also recently outraged after cinemas imposed a ban on moviegoers singing along to the music during film screenings in the US.
And as for X on Thursday, others encouraged a user to “delete” a spoiler post before the film has even hit theaters.

A fan uploaded a list of songs included in the film, such as the song One Short Day.
Below the song title, a list of the names involved in the tune was shown – seemingly revealing that the Broadway musical’s original stars, Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, appear in the film.
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are credited as both Menzel and Chenoweth, as well as Michael McCorry Rose.
One wrote below the photo: ‘When I looked at it at the fan screening we were all shocked!! everyone kept it a secret! pls delete.’
However, another explained: “It’s already written here and it’s not a movie spoiler because we don’t know what the scene is supposed to look like.”

An American theater chain, AMC, has doubled down on its famous trademark: ‘silence is golden’.
During one spot, a voice-over could be heard saying: ‘At AMC Theaters, silence is golden. No talking. No texting. No singing. No whining. No flirting. And absolutely no swear words. Enjoy the magic of movies’, per The independent.
Ryan Noonan, a spokesperson for AMC, said The Indianapolis Star earlier this week that the theater “has a long-standing policy prohibiting disruptive behavior.”
Regarding the spot, Noonan added that it “incorporates the themes of the film as a fun, engaging reminder for moviegoers not to disrupt the experience for those around them as they enjoy the show.”
Some fans took to social media to share their reaction to the ban, with one typing: ‘I paid for my ticket…If I want to sing, I’ll sing.’
Another wrote: “I’m singing softly to myself and no one can stop me… It’s not like they could hear me during the movie,” while someone added: “Oh those damn FUN POLICE.”
However, others defended the ban, with one saying: ‘I don’t understand people who want to hear themselves during the gigs.’

As the audience in the cinema erupted in cheers and applause, Erivo said: “Thank you for being here tonight, we hope you enjoy this film we have made.”
“A lot of love went into it, a lot of tears and laughter and all that good stuff. We are very proud to present this to you today.”
While the film will be released on Friday, the second part of the adaptation will premiere the following year in November 2025.
During a recent interview with Forbes Earlier this month, director Jon M. Chu recalled working on set and bringing the film to life with the cast and crew.
“A lot of times, me, Ari and Cynthia would grab each other’s hands and say, ‘Look at everyone! They’re all working and that’s the yellow brick road. We’re on the yellow brick road and you’re wearing witch outfits. This is insane. !”‘
