Why the Australian Federal Police is very interested in speaking to anyone who has seen these four photos

  • AFP has released images related to child abuse investigations
  • Anyone who recognizes them should alert the authorities

Child abuse investigators have released a chilling series of images of rooms where they say horrors took place in hopes of catching the perpetrators.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) released four images to the public on Monday in the hope that someone can bring forward information to help finalize cold cases being investigated by the Australian Center to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE).

The images include a fireplace, a bed frame with built-in radio and two images from the same scene with a blue brick wall pattern and yellow curtains.

This photo of a striking bed frame with built-in radio was released by the AFP in connection with a child abuse investigation

This image of a fireplace in a house was also released by the AFP and could lead them to criminals, according to them

Linked to historic cases that likely involved child victims who are now adults, AFP acting deputy commissioner Helen Schneider said the organization was “determined to identify these victims.”

“Victim identification specialists have the tedious job of going frame-by-frame through images and videos to identify anything that helps with a victim’s origin, location, or identity,” she says.

“Your clues can make or break an investigation and every tip can make all the difference to a vulnerable victim.”

AFP Acting Deputy Commissioner Helen Schneider said any information, no matter how small, could lead them to apprehend perpetrators and ensure the safety of children.

Ms Schneider said ‘the tiniest bit of information’ could lead to a breakthrough in the case, and called on those who had had access to the homes to come forward if they recognized these images.

“I’m especially looking specifically for help from people who might work in fields where you might have greater exposure to housing locations, such as real estate agents, tradesmen, builders, people who might be able to recognize the specifics of these photos,” she said.

Another chilling view of a room could lead police to apprehend cold case perpetrators

The release of these four images comes after investigative technique led police to charge a 45-year-old Gold Coast man with 1,600 felonies after he allegedly raped, abused and filmed 91 girls in child care centers over 15 years.

The man is regarded as one of Australia’s worst perpetrators of child abuse and is believed to have committed offenses at ten centers in Brisbane, one in NSW and one abroad.

Police have released background images linked to child abuse material found on the dark web in 2014, tracing objects from the videos to a children’s center in Brisbane in 2022.

When police made inquiries with the center, police were led to the Gold Coast man, leading to a litany of charges against him.
