Why isn’t Kanye coming home? After MONTHS spent globe-trotting, insiders reveal West is ‘terrified’ of lawsuits… and being dragged into ex-friend Diddy’s sordid scandals
Kanye West’s ex Kim Kardashian and their four children fled her home in Calabasas, California, last week as flames from wildfires licked at the door.
If Kardashian needed a place to stay, she might have sought shelter at West’s sprawling new $35 million mega-mansion in nearby Beverly Hills.
There’s plenty of room. The 20,000-square-foot pad features 11 bedrooms, 18 bathrooms, two pools and a spa. But it’s unlikely Dad would have been home.
After all, the eccentric 47-year-old rapper, producer and entrepreneur has barely set foot in the US in the past eight months.
He has kept his distance even as Kardashian, 44, accused him of being an absent father to their children, North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5. And his long absence has left West’s fans and critics prompted to wonder what exactly is keeping him away.

But now sources tell Ny Breaking exclusively that there’s a reason why West hasn’t been around and it has nothing to do with shirking his parental duties.
“Kanye’s reasoning for not being [in America] has nothing to do with his children and everything to do with the many lawsuits he is facing in the United States,” the sources told the Mail.
West has traveled the world with his wife Bianca Censori, from Tuscany in May to Paris and then, controversially, to Russia in June – even as his legal troubles piled up.
West was pictured at a family party in Los Angeles in August and a few days later drove a Tesla Cybertruck past a Donald Trump rally in Beverly Hills. He now reportedly lives in Tokyo. And last week he celebrated his wife’s 30th birthday with her parents at a rooftop restaurant in Dubai.
The family scene was a far cry from the hedonistic spectacle the couple staged in the Maldives on January 5. Videos posted to social media showed Censori writhing on the dance floor – her legs wrapped around her husband’s waist as he planted his face in her bosom.
These antics no longer shock, but West’s choice of such far-flung destinations – some as far from the US (and West’s children) as earthly possible – raises questions about his months-long absence from America.
“All this Diddy stuff has left Kanye terrified,” the sources said.
Disgraced media mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently in federal custody facing a litany of charges, including sex trafficking in connection with drug-fueled “freak-off” orgies.
It was in June, just as West began spending more time abroad, that he was named in an ongoing lawsuit alleging wrongful termination and sexual harassment by his former assistant, and Censori lookalike, Lauren Pisciotta, 36.
Pisciotta alleged that West repeatedly subjected her to sexual harassment when she worked for him in 2021 and 2022, and that he fired her after she refused to sleep with him.
West has denied all claims.
Then, in an updated filing in October, Pisciotta added a series of new allegations. She alleged that she was sexually assaulted by West sometime before she started working for him in 2021.

“All this Diddy stuff has left Kanye terrified,” sources say. Disgraced media mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs (pictured left) is currently in federal custody facing a litany of charges.
Pisciotta claimed that the incident occurred during a party at a recording studio in Santa Monica, where Combs was reportedly present.
She claims she was told to have a drink or leave, and was served drinks that were “poured in the direction of the West.” She allegedly slipped after drinking[ed] in an altered and very weakened condition.’
It wasn’t until years later, Pisciotta says, that West suggested to her that they had had sexual relations that night.
Pisciotta also claimed that as West’s personal assistant, she was tasked with organizing orgies and was asked to recruit sex workers and purchase a supply of sexual enhancement products that West allegedly referred to as his “sex honey.”
Pisciotta’s attorney, Mark Koorenny, said in filings in November that West had “been out of the country” and accused the rapper of “draft evasion.” [of a subpoena]’ which ends the lawsuit.
West’s lawyers have also denied all these allegations and did not respond to the Mail’s request for comment on this report.
In June, West attorneys said they were preparing a countersuit against Pisciotta.
Sources tell the Mail that while West maintains his innocence, he fears he will be dragged into a trial, perhaps as a witness, surrounding Combs’ case.
After all, Kanye and Combs were once fast friends.
Combs once credited West with helping fuel his “love” with hip-hop and over the years they have publicly partied together, including at Diddy’s lavish, star-studded 50th birthday party at a Beverly Hills mansion in 2019.
In 2022, West presented Diddy with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards. He said at the time: ‘I still go to him for advice to this day. He inspired so many of my choices.”
However, the friendship crumbled later that year in October when West wore a T-shirt with the slogan White Lives Matter, apparently a mockery of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Diddy called the stunt “tone deaf” and the pair got into a furious argument over a text message that Kanye later shared on his Instagram.
“I told you this was war,” West tells Diddy during the conversation. “Now I’m going to take care of some business for you.” The pair are said to have had an argument since then.
In June, West was named in an ongoing lawsuit alleging wrongful termination and sexual harassment by his former assistant and Censori lookalike Lauren Pisciotta, 36 (pictured).
And the Pisciotta lawsuit isn’t the only legal concern West faces.
In October, an anonymous former staffer hired to work on Kanye’s ill-fated 2024 presidential campaign claimed that Kanye had threatened to kill him.
Former America’s Next Top Model contestant Jennifer An alleged in a lawsuit filed in November that West choked her in a “pornographic” manner on the set of a music video in 2010.
And another legal action has been filed by the former project manager of West’s Malibu home in 2023, alleging, among other things, that Kanye withheld payments and violated labor rules.
With all the allegations awaiting him, it’s perhaps not surprising that Kanye seems to be avoiding America, even at the expense of spending time with his children.
“Kanye loves his children more than life itself and has said this many times. He often speaks to them and Facetimes with them. North is a daddy’s little girl.
‘[West] maintains his innocence, but this is what keeps him out of the country,” the Mail is told.
But as the lawsuits continue to unfold and his children likely struggle with the trauma of living in fire-ravaged Los Angeles, West may soon have no choice but to return and face the music.
