Why I fear there is a troubling code of silence among Strictly stars over Wynne’s vile ‘spit-roast’ slur
Wynne Evans was chosen dramatically from the strict live tour last night after he was caught making a sick sexual remark about one of the female hosts of the show.
Evans, 53, would perform in the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool last night, but issued a statement before he was expected on stage.
The Welsh Operazanger, who found fame in the Go Compare TV advertisements, had already been replaced in his BBC Wales -Radioshow.
Last night he said: “I agree with the BBC that I take some time from my radio program and the strictly live tour, as well as my other public obligations, to prioritize my well -being.”
‘I’m very sorry for the pain that caused my inappropriate actions and plan to take this time for self -reflection.
“Apologies to those I will not see during the remaining performances, and I am grateful to my colleague tour for all the great support they have given me.”

I revealed on Sunday in the post that I had heard the strict star use the nasty term ‘spit-roast’ in the launch of this year’s circuit
Chattered Evans was allowed to continue with the strict live tour, even though he would resign the calls after I had revealed in the post on Sunday that I had heard the strict star use the mean term ‘spit-roast’ at The launch of this year Circuit.
He used the filthy term, which refers to Drieweg sex, about his BBC colleague Janette Manrara. It is about as coarse and offensive a suggestion as you can do.
Evans was surrounded by their co-stars when he made the comment, with Janette removed just one arm length.
There can be no doubt about what he had said. I was furious. Evans was 20 meters from where I was, but I heard his words very clearly. And they sent shock waves by me.
Of course I am not the only one. After the widespread aversion caused by the revelations in my post on Sunday story, he was replaced on Monday in his morning radio show by comedian Robin Morgan, who also stood in front of Evans as he appeared strictly last year.
On Monday evening, however, he still appeared in the new travel series Wynne & Joanna: All at Sea next to Gavin & Stacey actress Joanna Page, on BBC One.
Despite his Primetime slot, it was not possible to make the top 20 -viewed shows that day, with only 1.1 million viewers. So what about his colleague professionals? Are they not angry either?

However, there has been silence-or worse, we are treated to full expressions of support for a man who has clearly never heard of #MeToo.
We also had no words of condemning the BBC – an organization that is supposedly devoted to the preservation of healthy values.
We do not even know if Evans voluntarily took a step back from the Tour or was ordered by the BBC – because it will not say.
Bosses had previously told the mail: “We made Wynne very clear that we do not tolerate such behavior during the Tour.”
As far as 41-year-old Janette, the main victim in all this, I expected expressions of pain, perhaps, anger or even need. But no. And in those short moments after Evans was’ big commentary, the attitude that could be seen.
Certainly, there were concern of her colleague dancers while his words called around the largely empty auditorium.
Actor Jamie Borthwick, 30-on who was made the remark and he had laughed at the jokes of Evans-trick his head back with a semi-grimas.
But in the next beat, a member of the camera crew shouted:
“And smiles!” Peaflende crates blown up, shiny teeth became dissolution. Everything seemed to be forgotten quickly and the offensive, sexist remark of Evans with all its consequences had been lost in the midst of the flashes of the cameras that were trained on them. The show must continue.
I can reveal that although Janette and most of the rest of the group have remained disturbedly silent about his comments, after he had not publicly tackled the issue, strictly chief judge Shirley Ballas jumped on his defense

Strictly Head Judge Shirley Ballas jumped into the defense of Evans and Evans calls ‘the nicest man I think I have ever met’
Speaking with the strict audience on the Glasgow Hydro Show on Sunday, she showered him with compliments: “Wynne has the nicest hugs,” she announced.
‘Come on Wynne let’s have a hug-bunny hug. I just love you so much. He is the nicest man I think I have ever met in my entire life. ‘
Katya, 35, Evans’ dance partner in the last strictly series, also came to the rescue and placed a video on social media in the piano and entertained his live Tour-Mede stars in their Glasgow Hotel.
After his apology, she also posted on Instagram: ‘Let us show humanity and consideration. I’ll miss you, my dear boy. ‘
The message was clear: she supports Evans. Why, could you ask, his Janette, Shirley and Katya-three are common, no-nonsense professionals refuse to condemn their co-star for his rude and unacceptable behavior? I fear that the answer is disturbing.
One Show Insider told me: ‘She [the dancers] Strict knowing is larger than she and wants to strictly protect. It is their livelihood.
‘And it’s not exactly good news for them when this stuff comes out – so it’s better to keep it happy and cli.
‘There is also a sense of loyalty because of all the shows for them. It is easier to continue. ‘
Certainly, it was no surprise on Saturday when an e -mail from the (female) representative of Janette arrived with a short statement that claimed that she ‘did not know’ of filthy comments.

One Show Insider told me: ‘She [the dancers] Strict knowing is larger than she and wants to strictly protect. It is their means of existence ‘
What then, from the response of Janette’s husband, strictly dancer Aljaž Škorjanec, who immediately turned to her in the aftermath to ask if she was in order?
I certainly don’t mention Janette. She has the right to tell her side of the story in the way she chooses, and I have no reason to doubt that she did not hear the comment, as her representative claims.
Yet I caught the episode on my camera phone. And for me there is only one explanation why these strong, talented women seem to protect a man who has embarrassed and humiliated a female colleague in her workplace.
Could there be a kind of sinister silence code – a kind of omerta – among the dancers? And is it one that is recorded by the BBC itself?
Eventually it was left to Lorraine Kelly to speak out against Evans during her ITV morning show and it described as ‘really not on’.
“Do it better, size,” she said. And also completely right.
Only four months ago, Katya was in the middle of another Evans-related episode, called ‘Grope-Gate’, when they pushed his hand away a hand hurled around her belly during the live strictly come dancing broadcast.
But even then, Katya defended her co-star and described his roaming hand as a ‘foolish joke’.
So far, so famous.
Katya, Janette and Shirley did not respond to the requests of the post for comment.
That episode almost cost Jones and Evans their places strictly and the ‘Spit-Roast’ Saga seems rather more serious.
But I expect nothing more than silence from the dancers and the BBC itself.
That is the way they seem to find it, after all.
