Why footy superstar Nathan Cleary’s party-packed offseason holiday photo album has got his fans offside

NRL star Nathan Cleary has put off his fans on social media by not including his football talent girlfriend Mary Fowler in a selection of photos showing what he has been up to in the off-season.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed an incredible few weeks of partying and overseas travel since sending Penrith to the premiership with a stunning win over Brisbane on October 1, but anyone perusing his photo album on Instagram could be forgiven for thinking that he had never had contact with Fowler.

Their romance became the country’s biggest sporting story when Ny Breaking Australia exclusively revealed the shirtless Panthers halfback enjoying some tender moments with the Manchester City star in a park on October 31.

Cleary’s Instagram post showed him living it up at a beautiful oceanfront wedding, but his girlfriend Mary Fowler was nowhere to be seen in his vacation photo album

The couple delighted sports fans of all stripes when Ny Breaking Australia captured exclusive photos of them sharing some tender moments in a Perth park in October

While the NRL star was partying in nightclubs and flying to Bali and New York, Fowler was playing for English giants Manchester City.

Cleary’s followers on Instagram couldn’t wait to let him know that he had made himself too busy by not including photos of his football love interest

Social media exploded with memes about them dating before the couple said goodbye at Perth airport as they flew back to England to play in the Women’s Super League.

Since then, Cleary has been photographed partying in New York, hanging out with NFL greats, attending UFC 295 at Madison Square Garden and attending an NBA game in Philadelphia.

He also experienced it in a number of hotspots in Bali before traveling to Perth to watch Fowler play in the Matildas Olympic qualifiers.

The photos he posted on Tuesday evening show him relaxing poolside in front of a spectacular sunset, recovering from the knee injury he suffered in the grand final and partying at a nightclub with his friends Ben Mercer and Reece Iaria.

His slideshow then cuts to him enjoying a beer at a beautiful oceanfront wedding, going to the Spring Carnival race with two friends, enjoying a sunset on an Aussie beach and resting in what looks like a hotel in the tropics.

Cleary’s social media followers loved the post but were baffled as to why Fowler was not mentioned.

“We need fowler content,” one person wrote, while another follower shared a gif of the football star looking around in confusion.

Cleary also posted a few photos of him at the spring races with friends

The star has rested his injured left knee in some pretty spectacular spots as he played it out before rejoining Penrith for pre-season training on December 8.

Other comments include several mentions of “Where is Mary?” along with ‘Next stop Manchester please!’, ‘How’s Mary Fowler?’ and “Mary didn’t notice any part.”

Fowler liked the post, captioned “Off season Pt.1,” which left fans hoping she would be featured in future photos from Cleary’s vacation.

His post comes after sports fans accused Real Madrid football star Jude Bellingham of trying to do something against Fowler as he quickly liked a series of photos she showed on Instagram.

“Jude Bellingham liked this post within four minutes,” one enthusiastic observer wrote.

“Honey, drop it, Jude is right, thurrrrr,” another added.

The Grand Finals hero met NBA stars including Boston’s Jayson Tatum (pictured) when he attended a basketball game in Philadelphia after a party in New York

While Fowler will play for City until their season ends on May 18 next year, her boyfriend is due back at pre-season training for the Panthers on December 8.

The couple could reunite when Fowler returns to Australia for a fan event with her Matildas teammates Alanna Kennedy and Mackenzie Arnold on December 21 at Sydney’s CommBank Stadium, half an hour’s drive from Cleary’s home in Penrith.

In his other recent post about his vacation, he met stars from NBA powerhouses the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers.

Before that, he experienced it at New York nightlife hotspot Loosie with teammates Damon McCarthy and Mitch Kenny during an early celebration of his birthday on November 14.
