Novak Djokovic will be looking for his fourth US Open title at this year’s tournament.
Seeded No. 2 for the tournament, the Serbian last won in New York in 2018 when he beat Juan Martin del Potro in straight sets. Djokovic missed the US Open last year due to his Covid vaccine status. In his last competition appearance, the 36-year-old was defeated in the 2021 final by Daniil Medvedev.
He hopes to push his limits this year, having suffered a dramatic loss to world champion Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final earlier this summer.
Many fans have seen the Serb wear a mysterious metal disc on his chest during matches.

Why is Djokovic wearing a metal disc taped to his chest?
Djokovic has been spotted by tennis fans with a metal disc taped to his chest.
The No. 2 ranked tennis star was asked about the disc in May – following his French Open victory over Marton Fucsovics.
“When I was a kid, I really liked Iron Man,” he said sarcastically.
“So I’m trying to imitate Iron Man.”
Djokovic went on to joke that his team is providing “efficient nanotechnology” to improve his performance.
“My team is delivering incredibly efficient nanotechnology to help me get the best out of myself,” he said.

It was later reported that it is in fact a Taopatch designed by an Italian company called Tao Technologies.
Djokovic teased fans that he is trying to imitate Iron Man with the disc, but the device is actually being used to improve health and well-being
What is a Tao Patch?
The Tapatatch is described as a ‘human upgrade device’, designed to improve health and well-being.
Tao Technology’s official website claims the patch contains “layers of nanocrystals that capture your body heat and convert it into impulses of very faint light, which are then emitted to specific points on your body.”
