At the Paris Games, Chiles was denied points for one of her routines that she should have been. USA Gymnastics filed an investigation that was accepted, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) concluded that they were four seconds too slow to do so. However, USA Gymnastics has now submitted new evidence proving otherwise, but the CAS has refused to accept an appeal against their decision.
