McDonald’s sparked outrage in 2021 when the fast-food chain quietly axed its popular all-day breakfast option.
Now a former former Maccas manager has revealed the real reason why you can no longer spot a Sausage McMuffin and hash brown at 5pm.
In conversation with Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson on their KIIS FM radio show Tuesday morning the manager said it all comes down to space in the kitchen.
‘You only have a certain area of preparation. It’s just going to be a hassle,” he began.
‘For example, in your preparation area you have the right breads for your quarter pounders, your big macs and your cheeseburgers.’

He continued, “Then suddenly you have to have McMuffins in there, and you have to have egg trays in there.”
‘Yes that’s right. How hard is it?’ Kyle, 52, exclaimed.
‘Far too difficult. Have McDonald’s design it like a Ferrari, like a well-oiled machine, and throw these McMuffins in there? Not good,” the mystery manager insisted.
But Kyle didn’t give up, saying McDonald’s managed an all-day, all-night breakfast menu for three years before launching it.
Bruno explained it in terms Kyle could understand: “You know what it’s like? It’s like you’re having breakfast and Gordie is in the studio trying to do his show too.”
Gordie Waters is a fellow KIIS FM radio host who goes live right after the Kyle and Jackie O Show from 10am to 3pm.

McDonald’s sparked outrage on social media in 2021 when it revealed it would no longer serve breakfast items after midday.
A McDonald’s spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia at the time: ‘Our breakfast menu will be available in restaurants until 12pm and through McDelivery until 10.30am to better meet customer needs during other peak times.
‘By adjusting our all-day breakfast schedule, we hope to reduce the time our customers need to wait for other products during the afternoon and evening peak hours.
‘While we understand that some customers will be disappointed, our breakfast menu will remain available in the restaurant until 12pm every day and through McDelivery until 10.30am.’
The mystery manager said McDonald’s food preparation area is like a “well-oiled machine” and adding McMuffins to it was too much “hassle.”
