Why daughter of dentists who was straight-A student became ‘serial killer who murdered three,’ according to friend
A high school friend of a suspected serial killer has explained how the former straight-A student went down a dark path that led to the possible murders.
Sabrina Kauldhar, 30, is accused of committing three murders between Oct. 1 and Oct. 3, including two men who police say were stabbed at random in two separate Canadian cities.
She now faces two charges of first-degree murder and one charge of second-degree murder.
But Kauldhar, the daughter of two dentists, had once been a happy and intelligent student, an unknown high school friend. told the Toronto Sun.
“I knew her well in high school, her parents were both dentists,” the friend says. ‘She was a straight-A student and very active in sports, playing hockey at a high level and doing figure skating in her youth.’

Lance Cunningham, 47, (left) was stabbed to death in a Niagara Falls park on October 2, the day before Mario Billich, 77, was also stabbed in Hamilton
The friend further said that Kauldhar’s parents were both wonderful people, but her mother died four years ago.
Yet Kauldhar appeared to have been down a path before, with the friend saying he believes she fell in with the wrong people in college and developed some mental health issues, which “unfortunately led to this situation.”
“Just about all I can say since it’s been forever, but… [she] was just a happy, fun person with a good head on her shoulders and all the resources she could ask for to be wildly successful, but clearly went down a bad path,” the friend said, noting that his last interaction with Kauldhar was in 2015, when she asked him for money.
Police now say Kauldhar killed a Toronto woman in her 60s, whose body was found with “traumatic” injuries last Tuesday, and then stabbed to death Lance Cunningham, 47, in a Niagara Falls park, and Mario Bilich. 77, who was stabbed in a parking lot in Hamilton.
It is believed she knew the female victim in Toronto, but randomly targeted Cunningham and Bilich as she continued her killing spree.
Authorities say Kauldhar was caught on surveillance footage walking away from the site of the park where Bilich was killed
While little has been revealed by investigators about the first alleged killing, police said Cunningham’s death came after paramedics were called to John Allan Park in Niagara Falls shortly before 3 p.m. on Oct. 2.
Cunningham was found to be seriously injured, and despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Less than 24 hours later, Bilich was stabbed in a parking lot in Hamilton, and hours later he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Police released surveillance footage showing Kauldhar casually walking away from the scene.
Kauldhar was eventually arrested in Burlington, Ontario, on suspicion of the first murder, before quickly being linked to the other two deaths during the investigation through a description of a suspect at both scenes.
Niagara Regional Police Chief Bill Fordy said she is ‘by definition a serial killer’
At a news conference after her arrest, Niagara Regional Police Chief Bill Fordy said she is “by definition a serial killer.”
“We have more than a hundred investigators trying to understand why something like this is happening and gathering as much evidence as possible to bring the suspect to justice,” he said.
Fordy also said detectives have not determined any motive for the killings, saying the investigation is in its “early stages.”
“I think as time goes by we will get more clarity,” he added.
Fordy also noted that the suspect had previously had an “interaction” with police, but declined to provide details.
SooToday.com however, reports that in April 2019, a then 23-year-old Sabrina Kauldhar was arrested after she allegedly approached a vehicle near her home and began punching the passenger.
